Ministry of Employment Cancels Licenses of Two Recruitment Agencies for Violations

The Ministry of Employment, Labour, and Social Security has revoked the overseas recruitment licenses of two agencies for breaching the provisions of the Overseas Employment and Migrant Workers Act of 2023.

The affected agencies are Obinana (SL) Limited, located at No. 6 Main Motor Road, Waterloo, and Daresallam Travelling & Employment Recruitment Agency (SL) Limited, based at 27 Jui Highway, Jui. The cancellation of their licenses officially took effect on January 13, 2025.

In a public notice, the Ministry strongly urged prospective migrant workers to avoid engaging with these agencies for any recruitment-related activities. It further advised the public to ensure they only deal with agencies that hold valid recruitment licenses. The notice emphasized the importance of verifying the authenticity of job offers and recruitment agencies through the Ministry before proceeding with any agreements.

The Ministry also warned that individuals who fail to comply with this directive will bear full responsibility for any adverse outcomes resulting from their actions.

For additional information or verification, the Ministry encouraged members of the public to consult them directly. This step is intended to protect the interests of migrant workers and ensure compliance with the laws regulating overseas employment.
